OriginalSimplified Chinese

傍晚,林舟把最后一箱书搬进海边的小屋。窗外的灯塔还没有亮,潮水正慢慢漫过石阶。他翻开一本空白的航海日志,在第一页写下:今天开始,替远方的人留一盏灯。

TranslationEnglish

In the evening, Lin Zhou carried the last box of books into the little house by the sea. Outside the window, the lighthouse was not yet lit, and the tide was slowly creeping over the stone steps. He opened a blank logbook and wrote on the first page: Starting today, I will keep a light burning for those far away.

Built for whole books

Features
01

Keep the structure

Translation takes place within the EPUB, preserving its images, styles and table of contents. Check the finished book in your reading app or e-reader.

02

Keep the context

A glossary and chapter summaries help keep names and terminology consistent throughout the book.

03

One translation, two EPUBs

When the job finishes, download a translation-only EPUB and a paragraph-by-paragraph bilingual EPUB. Both come from the same translation and price, ready to open in any EPUB reader.

How to translate an EPUB file online

Guide
  1. Start with a readable EPUB

Choose a readable, DRM-free EPUB within the displayed size limit. The free sample translates the opening of the main text in the background, so you can sign up now or come back later in this browser.

  2. Read the original beside the translation

Translate the opening of your book for free, no sign-up needed, and read it side by side with the original. Translation runs in the background; you can come back in this browser to see it.

  3. Confirm a whole-book price, then download

Confirm the fixed price and payment timing before starting. Eligible books can be paid for after translation; others require payment first. Once both EPUBs are ready and paid for, you have 24 hours to download. No subscription or Credit purchase is required.

Keep the book's structure, not a wall of pasted text

An EPUB contains reading-order information, chapter documents, navigation, styles, and often images. The full translation workflow works with that structure instead of flattening the entire book into a single text response. It aims to retain chapter order, links, images, and supported inline formatting while replacing readable text. Translated headings and navigation help you move around the result. Different languages take up different amounts of space, and reading apps apply their own fonts and layout rules, so identical line breaks or page counts are not promised. Check a downloaded sample in your usual reading app before committing a large book.

Choose a translated EPUB or a bilingual reading copy

The completed book has two reading options. A translated EPUB is useful when you want to read continuously in your chosen language. A bilingual EPUB places the original and translation together, making it easier to check a phrase, compare terminology, or study a language. Both editions come from the same completed translation, so choosing a different download does not start another translation. Open your chapter trial in the EPUB reader to compare original, translated and bilingual views with the book’s styles, images and navigation. Only completed trial paragraphs are readable; the remaining content is locked. Complex tables and highly styled pages may look different across reading apps. Open the sample editions in your usual reader to choose the format that suits you.

EPUB vs PDF: start with the right format

EPUB is designed for reflowable reading: text can adapt to screen size, font choice, and reader preferences. PDF commonly preserves a page layout, which can make extraction of columns, footnotes, and scanned text a different problem. This tool accepts EPUB files; it does not currently translate PDF files directly or perform OCR. If you own an EPUB edition, use that original instead of converting a PDF. If conversion is necessary, inspect the resulting chapter order and extracted text first. A malformed conversion cannot be repaired simply by translating its words.

Translate books into 41 languages

Choose from 41 target languages, including Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese with Taiwan or Hong Kong usage. The source language is initially read from the EPUB metadata; you can correct it before translation begins. Check that the opening paragraph is in the expected source language, particularly in multilingual books or converted files with incomplete metadata. The preview lets you assess names, dialogue, and specialized terms in the language you intend to read. After the trial starts, its language pair stays fixed so a later continuation can keep the same terminology and context. To translate the book into a different language, save it to an account and request a separate whole-book translation.

A text translator or a whole-book translator?

For a sentence or a short passage

A general text translator is convenient when you only need to understand a few lines. Copying text gives you control over exactly what is translated, but you are responsible for collecting the results and rebuilding any book layout. Our free excerpt preview serves a similar quick-check purpose, using text extracted directly from your EPUB.

For a book you want to keep reading

An EPUB workflow is useful when the desired result is another readable book file. It handles the book's reading order, background progress, and downloadable editions together. Full translation also uses terminology and context preparation to support continuity between passages. The tradeoff is that an entire book takes more processing than a short excerpt, so it needs an account and is paid per book.

EPUB translation questions

Credits explained
How do I translate an EPUB file?

Upload a DRM-free EPUB, choose a target language and try the opening for free. Your whole-book quote tells you whether payment is required before translation. Follow the quoted steps to translate, pay and download both EPUB editions.

Is there a free EPUB book translator available?

Yes. Try the opening for free, without signing up or adding a card. After upload, the whole-book quote shows the fixed price and when payment is due. Only eligible books can be translated before payment.

Can I translate a DRM-protected ebook?

No. The uploader rejects protected EPUB archives, and the service does not remove DRM. Use an unprotected EPUB that you created, obtained from an authorized source, or otherwise have permission to translate. A file ending in .epub is not necessarily readable: encrypted content, damaged archives, and books containing only images cannot be treated as ordinary text chapters.

Will an AI book translation be perfect?

No automated translation can promise perfect meaning, style, or terminology. Dialogue, idioms, poetry, and specialized material deserve particular attention. Use the excerpt to check the reading experience, then review important passages against the original. A bilingual edition can make that comparison easier. If you intend to publish or rely on the text for consequential decisions, arrange appropriate human review.

What happens to the file I preview?

Your EPUB and sample stay private. Unused uploads and free samples are deleted after 24 hours, unpaid translations after 7 days, and downloadable translations after 24 hours. Only the selected text and bounded translation context are sent to the model provider.

Can I read the result on my usual ebook reader?

The downloaded result is an EPUB file, so use an app or device workflow that supports importing EPUB. Reader support and rendering vary, particularly for complex styling and bilingual layouts. Try the downloadable sample with your normal setup first. If your device requires a transfer or conversion service, follow that service's current instructions and check the converted result before deleting your original.
